When Buffon was brought on to market World of Tanks’ Italian update a month or so back, it felt like a really weird pairing. It’s still a really weird decision, but you can the logic to the madness with the release of a new football-based game mode.
It’s 3v3 Tank Football taking place in special arenas and with players commanding three special footballing tanks. It sounds a bit like Rocket League, but with tanks, and Buffon will be there as the in-game commentator to cheer you along.
When you see the crazy production values for the trailer, it’s clear that Wargaming have clearly put a lot of effort (and money) into this event.
