It appears the PlayStation Network is having a few problems, although according to Sony’s official status update it’s not completely broken. “You may have some difficulty launching games, applications or online features,” is the official line.
We’ve noticed matchmaking, party chats, and friend requests are all having problems. I can’t seem to get Defiance 2050 working, and we’ve had reports that Onrush, Fortnite, and GT Sport online are also having difficulties. Driveclub and H1z1 seem to be fine though, and looking at Twitter it appears to be a problem across most of Europe and some reports in North America.
We’ll keep you updated if anything changes.
UPDATE: According to the status page, “All services are up and running.”

At least you can play it offline. You just can’t save. Because some idiot did half a job trying to fix things so you can play the single player part of a game without being online, as you’d expect to be able to do.

Defiance 2050 has been mildly flaky all week (not as bad as the original version though), and it was definitely struggling earlier today. But they took the servers down at 9.30 for 30-45 minutes. To improve stability. So you can’t blame Sony for that, really.
Everything is going a bit slow though. I’m guessing some deliberate or possibly accidental attack hammering the servers. Haven’t updated Fortnite have they?

This has to be the weirdest case of server problems i ever experienced… I actually had no problem playing GTA online yesterday, but i have this weird bug that keeps me stuck at appearing offline making it more or less impossible to join a game with friends or join a voice chat party… I say more or less because after an hour or so i managed to get it work, even though im still displayed as offline…

Indeed for most of the night my friends list has been around 17 online,fairly sure there not online going by most nights being maybe 4 online at most,quite a few are also coming up as on certain levels of games for hours or in menus or lobbys with no change as i say it’s been like that for hours,very weird indeed.
