Market research firm Superdata has been busy looking at Battle Royale games and has concluded that Epic have made over $1 billion from Fortnite’s in-game purchases. That does help explain why they can release a patch every week with a couple of thousand tweaks and bug fixes, the teams working on the game must be huge.
Income generated by the game is growing each month with $318 million generated in May 2018. The report also shows that 700 million hours of Battle Royale content was viewed online during the same month, so Twitch, YouTube, that sort of thing, and a whopping 83% of that content was Fortnite.
So in short, Fortnite is doing rather well and Epic can afford to buy everyone a pint.

Wow, that’s crazy. I wonder how much Cliffy B regrets leaving Epic…
Tuffcub
I would assume that he still has shares in Epic so is doing alright.
