Mega Man To Be Turned In To A Live Action Movie

The latest IP to get the big screen treatment is Capcom’s evergreen hero, Mega Man. The film, cunningly titled Mega Man, will be written and directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Catfish, Paranormal Activity 3 and 4), and distributed by 20th Century Fox.

Here’s part of the statement from Capcom:

Based on the influential and globally beloved Mega Man franchise, Capcom aims to appeal to a diverse audience, including not only game players but action movie fans as well, with an adaptation that maintains the world of the Mega Mangames, while incorporating the grand production and entertainment value that Hollywood movies are known for.

No release date for the movie has been given, or any details on how a small man in a blue suit will work in live action.

  1. I see no way that this won’t suck.

If it stays close to the source materiel (as they claim) it will be pretty cheesy, and if they try to make it serious, it will be worse.

I predict a generic bionic-man type story with lots of CG and one dimensional baddie. Probably with Megan Fox in it.
