Sony “Aware” Of Consoles Being Bricked By Messaging Exploit

I have to say I raised an eyebrow when I read the news that PlayStation 4’s were being bricked by messages sent via the consoles messaging system but Sony now seemed to have confirmed there is an issue.

They have (finally) responded to the reports and have given the following statement.

We are aware of the situation and are planning a system software update to resolve this problem.

Until Sony get round to releasing a hotfix please make sure you update your messaging settings on your PlayStation 4.

To do this go to settings, account management, privacy settings, personal information, messaging, and make sure you are only receiving messages from friends (or no one, if you’re Johnny Nomates).
