The Anthem Alpha Starts In A Few Days

EA have revealed that you only have a few days to wait before you can play Anthem, assuming you’re one of the lucky ones picked for the closed alpha test. The alpha will run from December 8th on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

“These Community Playtests are more limited than what we want to share in the pre-launch demos,” say EA, “All of these factors combined mean that we’re making access to our Playtests limited, which is where the “closed” part of the name comes from. ”

Just for a change, pre-ordering the game does not get you guaranteed access to the Alpha. Here’s how to get on the list.

  1. Head to the EA Community Playtesting site.
  2. Sign in with your EA Account.
  3. Choose your platform, and let us know when you want to play. Once your choices are completed, click Submit.
  4. Signing up does not guarantee you’ll be invited to take part, it’s on a first come first served basis.
  5. If you’re in, you’ll see a confirmation on the Community Playtesting site and you’ll get an email from us letting you know how to download the Anthem Closed Alpha game client.

  1. I thought I’d give it a go, but then saw when it’s running.

Just for 3 hours from 9AM and 2PM on the Saturday and Sunday?

I won’t be anywhere near my PS4 that weekend anyway, even if I did want to try it on a Sunday morning.

Also, I’d forgotten it was even a thing. As will everyone by the time it launches, I suspect. Funny how they seem to know what an “alpha” is, but made themselves look like a bunch of tossers with that “beta? You mean demo” bollocks.
