Street Fighter V Will Have In Game Adverts As Of Tomorrow

Capcom are to introduce advertisements during loading screens, and on costumes and stages, in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. The adverts will be for Street Fighter costumes, DLC, and to promote the Pro Tour.

You can turn off the ads but if you do you won’t earn as much Fight Money, so it will take longer to unlock new content. As mentioned the adverts are just for Street Fighter content at the moment, but there’s no reason why Doritos and Mountain Dew could start popping up in the background at a later date. Capcom do refer to it as “sponsored content” which does suggest they will be selling the advertising space.

In other Street Fighter news, there will be a free trial from 11th-19th December on all formats, so you can see the ads for free.

  1. Not the worse thing in the world as you may not know about the new bits of DLC. And we do all have a brain right, you dont have to buy them. Seems a quote I read was right though, it wont be long before we have to watch an ad before we can answer a phone call/read a text….
