Yoshi’s latest adventure, Yoshi’s Crafted World was already pinned down for the first few months of the year, but Nintendo have announced a 29th March release date for the game alongside a new story trailer.
Yoshi games have always sported new and inventive art styles, from the original Yoshi’s Island on SNES that brought hand-drawn visuals into a game for the first time, to Yoshi’s Woolly World on Wii U that made everything out of yarn. Crafted World’s visual hook is that everything looks like it’s an arts and crafts project, and this also plays into the game design. Every level in the game can be played in two different ways, from the front and then viewed from behind, where you can find extra secrets, see Shy Guys pulling strings and moving level elements around and more. It’s a cute idea and I can’t wait to see how it all comes together.
