One of the most recognisable people in the gaming industry, Nintendo of America’s President & COO Reggie Fils-Aime, has announced that he is retiring and will be leaving the company on April 15th. Taking Reggie’s place is Bowser. No, not Mario’s nemesis but current senior vice president of marketing Doug Bowser who will step up to the leadership role once Reggie strolls into the sunset.
Now some words from the man himself.
“Nintendo owns a part of my heart forever. It’s a part that is filled with gratitude – for the incredibly talented people I’ve worked with, for the opportunity to represent such a wonderful brand, and most of all, to feel like a member of the world’s most positive and enduring gamer community. As I look forward to departing in both good health and good humor, this is not ‘game over’ for me, but instead ‘leveling up’ to more time with my wife, family and friends.”

Doug Bowser has stated that he will continue with Reggie’s work and continue to build Nintendo’s legacy. But considering what he did when he became VP of Sales back in 2015, we can’t wait for the monstrous shenanigans he gets up to.
