Ubisoft cancel Starlink toys due to the game underperforming

Despite almost every other toys-to-life game closing down, including LEGO Dimensions, Disney Infinity 2.0, and Skylanders, Ubisoft decided they would try their hand at the genre with Starlink: Battle for Atlas. The game launched with impressive reviews and a number of toys including a special Star Fox ship for the Switch version.

However, it seems the game has not sold well and all future toys have been cancelled. “Despite the immense and continuous support from our players, the sales for Starlink: Battle for Atlas fell below expectations,” stated Ubisoft, “Consequently, we recently made the decision to not release any additional physical toys for the Spring update and in the future.”

The game itself will continue to be updated with “a ton of free content to expand your games”, with a large update scheduled for this month.

  1. Ubisoft lost the plot with this one. You would have thought Disney and Lego ducking out would have been a good indicator!

  2. That’s not hugely surprising but it’s a nice gesture to offer free updates.
