Bafta-nominated PC game Frostpunk will be heading to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as Frostpunk: Console Edition. This is the official console announcement, almost a year to the day ago 11 Bit Studios Senior Marketing Manager Karol Zajaczkowski revealed there was going to be a console edition and stated they want to “make 100% sure that when you play Frostpunk on consoles that you are struggling with the challenges from the game and not the challenges coming from the controller.”
11 bit studios “still have some work to do” on the control scheme and interface for or consoles but “are close to the finish line”. “We don’t want to reveal the exact release date yet, but I can say that the game should be out in the summer,” says lead designer Kuba Stokalski.
Frostpunk: Console Edition will contain all the previous free updates from the PC version including The Fall of Winterhome scenario, additional customization options, difficulty settings, and balance tweaks. Further content is also planned.
