Get ready to leave your world behind this November in Jumanji: The Video Game

Jumanji is among my favourite childhood films and I’m sure it’s up there for millions of others too. Even the sequel that was out last year starring the likes of Jack Black, Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, and Kevin Hart was pretty good and kept to the spirit of things. You may remember in the sequel that the four characters were sucked into a video game rather than a board game, and you could soon run that risk too as Bandai Namco confirmed Jumanji: The Video Game which will be released November 15th for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. The company will be partnering with publisher Outright Games while Funsolve has development duties.

It’ll be an action adventure title that will allow for four player multiplayer online and through local split screen as each player looks to get to the end of the deadly environments and puzzles ahead. The characters are based upon the ones from the latest film and they are Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, Franklin “Mouse” Finbar and Professor Shelly Oberon, who each have their own specialities. If they’re going by the film then those will include combat skill for Ruby Roundhouse and deciphering puzzles as Shelly Oberon. The release date of November 15th puts the game out a month before the next Jumanji film, which is set to be releasing in cinemas on December 13th. No doubt Bandai Namco is looking to cash in on the potential hype that the film may generate.
