Ori and the Will of the Wisps gets a February 2020 release date

With E3 finally underway we were treated to some absolutely beautiful footage of the forthcoming Ori: The Will of the Wisps, and Microsoft dropped the slightly far off release date of February 11, 2020. While fans were probably hoping for it to appear later this year, it’s never a bad thing for games to spend a little more time in the oven.

The sequel to 2015’s fantastic Ori and the Blind Forest, it looks as though we can expect more of the same jaw-dropping painterly graphics tied to challenging platforming. Moon Studios look to have been hard at work on some of the boss characters, with the new footage showing a giant arachnid spitting venom at the eponymous hero while he attempts to stay out of the way, as well as a giant wolf and a skeletal owl creature who take up most of the screen.

As a first party game, Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be day one on Xbox Game Pass, so Xbox owners will have little reason not to jump straight in when it appears early next year.
