Torn Banner Studios and Tripwire Interactive are teaming up on a sequel to Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, combining their first person combat expertise to take the original concept to new heights. Chivalry 2 will be coming first to the Epic Games Store in early 2020.
The player count has been increased to 64 players – they’re seeking to replicate the feel of the Battle of the Bastards from Game of Thrones – and they’ve completely overhauled the player animation to get the weight of combat feel right, while making it more readable, more fluid and satisfying.
The original Chivalry: Medieval Warfare first came to PC in 2012, before making the jump to consoles through 2014 and 15. That was a solo endeavour from Torn Banner Studios, but they’ve allied with Tripwire Interactive, who you best know from the Killing Floor series. We look forward to seeing more of this melee battler in the near future.
