Need For Speed Heat brings the burn, releases this November

In the run up to Gamescom, EA have finally revealed the next Need for Speed game. Need for Speed Heat will take played down to the Miami-esque Palm City this November, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Check out the first trailer for the game here:

The game will have a narrative focus once again, with racers in Palm City living two lives. On the one side you’ll make a name for yourself in officially sanctioned races during the day, earning Bank along the way to customise and upgrade your garage of performance cars, but then risk it all in underground races at night. That will let you build up a rep in the underground scene, but with the danger of a rogue police task force hunting you down, trying to wipe you out and steal your earnings.

Today is just the game announcement and cinematic trailer release, with EA set to hold a gameplay reveal on 19th August at Gamescom in an Opening Night Live stream.

It was back in February that there was confirmation that a new Need for Speed game was in production thanks to an earnings call report in which EA’s Blake Jorgensen confirmed its existence. That was further backed up by a tweet from DICE’s Ben Walke. Following that rather subdued confirmation during the buildup to EA Play there was confirmation that the new Need For Speed title would be released in 2019, but the publisher changed tactics by stating it would not reveal details during its keynote. What was stated is that the new Need For Speed title would be a culmination of the franchise’s 25-year history.

Need For Speed Heat will be released on November 5th on Origin Access Premier/Play First Trial, with a full release following on November 8th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

  1. So far so good but I’m waiting for Gamescon, where we’ll see the gameplay trailer and hopefully get more info about it, before deciding whether to buy or not.
