Google Stadia launches on November 19th

If you ordered a Google Stadia Founders Pack then you have around a month to wait before you can start to play games. Stadia will launch at 9AM PST / 5PM BST / 6PM CET on November 19th on Chromecast Ultra and select tablets and phones. The free to play version, which will not require a Chromecast, will launch sometime next year.

Stadia Founder’s Editions and Stadia Premiere Editions will begin shipping in the same order that pre-orders were received. Those who did buy one will get an email when their package ships and will receive a code to activate their Stadia account shortly after. The founders editions include Destiny 2: The Collection but you will have to purchase other games to play on the system.

If you have a fast enough broadband connection (at least 30mbps) and decent television you should be able to stream in 4K, 60fps, with 5.1 surround sound.

You can still pick up a launch bundle priced at £119 which includes everything you need to get started with Google Stadia but the Founder’s Edition reportedly selling out in some territories. As a result, Google has announced a “Premiere Edition” for those who still want to get in some day one game streaming action. Google will be updating its Stadia store from country to country, replacing the Founder’s Edition with the Premiere Edition once the former has sold out.

  1. I can’t wait to not buy this!

  2. My internet is usually about 3 Mbps. Could Stadia stream Doom Eternal at 240i @ 15 FPS?

    • You’re assuming that’s not what it’s going to look like normally ;)
