With Zombie Army 4: Dead War looming on PS4, Xbox One and PC, Rebellion are throwing a fleshy bone to the ravenous hordes of Nintendo Switch gamers out there. Zombie Army Trilogy is being ported across, coming to Switch in the first half of 2020.
Everything from the original trilogy is here, with three Nazi Zombie-filled campaigns to work through, as you batter Hitler’s undead hordes, and speaking of which, there’s a solid Horde mode as well. You can obviously play in single player, but there’s also co-op for up to four players.
That’s where some unique Nintendo Switch features are being thrown into the mix. You’ll be able to play with 2-4 players via local wireless play, as well as hooking into the Switch’s friend invite system online. Additionally, Rebellion are kitting it out with motion controls (particularly handy for finessing long range shots), HD Rumble and Pro Controller support.
Looking back at our Zombie Army Trilogy review, I said, “Zombie Army Trilogy knows what it wants to be, a straightforward zombie sniping game that lacks any real pretensions or delusions of grandeur. Parts of the trilogy are showing their age and difficulty spikes can sap away the fun, but steel yourself for a challenge, get some mates together and there’s plenty to like about it.”
Having already sold 4 million copies, it looks like Rebellion are going to sell a few more in 2020. There’s no specific date for Zombie Army Trilogy on Switch, but Zombie Army 4: Dead War launches February 4, 2020 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
