Animal Crossing: New Horizons was revealed during Nintendo’s 2018 E3 Direct and at the time the publisher was hoping to release the game in 2019. However, at E3 2019 Nintendo confirmed that the game would be delayed with the new release date set as March 20, 2020. The latest game in the fan favourite franchise will have a shift in setting compared to previous titles.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons won’t be set in an already established town. Instead, players are working for Tom Nook and are sent to a deserted island to create a community that individuals would want to move too. You’ll be able to do things like pole vault rivers, have access to more customisation options to better personalise your character, and you won’t have to do it alone as multiplayer will allow up to eight players to work together, and you can place furniture outside.
In terms of in-game systems, the seasons will take into account your location regardless of the hemisphere. Players will have a smartphone like tool Animal Crossing: New Horizons to check out resources required to craft items, sell and buy items, track achievements and progress which can then give rewards, and you’ll also use the item to invite friends to your island.
