Mario Kart Tour multiplayer beta open to all, Valentine’s Tour arrives next week

Nintendo has announced that its multiplayer beta for the mobile spin off Mario Kart Tour is now open to all players who have the game. Previously this had been restrictied to the players who had the Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass. The test itself is set to be live until January 28th. The steps to join the multiplayer beta are incredibly simple too.

  1. On the Cup selection screen tap the menu button
  2. Select multiplayer and accept the location data prompt.
  3. Choose how you want to play multiplayer with either local or global options available.

There seems to be an exception in place for Nintendo accounts whose location is set to South Korea as location data cannot then be used, which means you can’t test out the multiplayer features. As this is a test Nintendo has stated there may be crashes, connection dropouts, and lag. The company has also stated that any progress made in the multiplayer will be wiped at the end of the test as there are likely to be major changes between this and the final release. Nintendo has also stated taking part in the test means your device battery is likely to drain faster and generate more heat, so keep that in mind.

Aside from the multiplayer test Nintendo also revealed the next tour that will be added to the game. On January 28th the Valentine’s Tour will go live with another character which looks like it will be Baby Peach with a cupid outfit.
