Streets of Rage 4’s newest character revealed and multiplayer details confirmed

Dotemu has revealed the new character for Streets of Rage 4 and he is called Floyd Iraia. Floyd has cybernetic metal arms, which will draw the comparisons to Jax from Mortal Kombat, but it appears Floyd’s arms have powers like a grappling hook and the ability to shock people with electricity. On top of revealing Floyd Iraia Dotemu also confirmed the game’s multiplayer details. Streets of Rage 4 will support two-player online co-op while local multiplayer will support up to four players.

Dom had a go with Streets of Rage 4 and wrote:

A classic beat ‘em up in a modern skin might just be the simple, brain-massaging fun we need right now, and it’s legitimately as close to the originals as it’s possible to be. The Mega Drive Classic’s inclusion of Streets of Rage II has placed the series firmly back in the modern consciousness – well, mine at least – and with Dotemu, Lizardcube and Guard Crush at the helm you can be certain that at the very least Streets of Rage 4 will be a gorgeous, retro-infused electro-pop smackdown of the highest order.

Streets of Rage 4’s roster will include Axel Stone, Blaze Fielding, Cherry Hunter, and Adam Hunter. With Floyd that brings the roster up to five playable characters. Streets of Rage 4 will be available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch at some point in the Spring.
