Horror title The Persistence heads to PC and consoles in May

Firesprite Games has confirmed the date for when its horror title The Persistence will be going VR free, with the game heading to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch on May 21st. The Persistence was originally released on the PSVR in 2018 and it was last year when FireSprite announced it would be taking the game multiplatform. The developer reaffirmed that last month. The Persistence is set in the year 2151 aboard a colony ship where things have gone horribly wrong. Players will die a lot and with each death the ship will reset so you’ll have to learn the new labyrinth while trying to get the ship back to Earth.

Founder of Firesprite Games Graeme Ankers said:

“When we made the move to bring The Persistence to new platforms, our key focus was to ensure that the particularly brutal nature of gameplay made the leap to non-VR. As a result, The Persistence keeps players on edge from beginning to end, and with a procedurally generated environment forming around them, no two playthroughs are ever identical, meaning you will never find safety in the same spot.”

In The Persistence, the team at Firesprite have concocted a rogue-lite survival horror whose atmosphere and hard hitting combat feel fantastic in VR. Thanks to an impressive array of comfort options it’s also amongst the best PSVR experiences we’ve had, and for owners of Sony’s headset it’s damn near essential.
