SnowRunner PC mod support detailed with vehicle mods available from launch

Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive have announced that the trucking title SnowRunner will have mod support from day one on PC. At launch, this will be limited to vehicle mods that have been created collaboratively between Saber Interactive and a group of modders. Following on there will be support for map modding and mods for missions related to those maps. There is also a little sneak peek at the post-launch roadmap with Saber Interactive confirming there will be interior customisation, and that will be an additional area that players will be able to mod. It is clear that the developers are making it easy for the community to make their mark on SnowRunner, and it is not too much of a surprise considering MudRunner has over 5000 mods.

In SnowRunner players will have to navigate some of the most treacherous environments known to man in large trucks. You’ll have to contend with snowbanks, ice on the roads, frozen rivers, and mud. There are a number of missions to tackle which can be done alone or in co-op with up to four players. SnowRunner will feature eleven sandbox maps and the total area will be three times larger than what was available in MudRunner.

In our review for the original Spintires: MudRunner, Dom wrote:

Spintires: MudRunner is utterly unique, and as a driving simulator of a niche field it is basically unparalleled. However, the difficulty level and lack of pace are likely going to make it a very niche game, while the camera is an extra challenge in itself. Still, there’s grit, determination, freedom and reward to be found here for those ready to wade in.
