PS5 co-op RPG Godfall reveals Silvermane class

Counterplay Games and Gearbox have released a new teaser for their upcoming online action game, Godfall.

This new peek at the flashy fantasy title gives us a closer look at one of Godfall’s playable classes, the Silvermane. Each class is defined by their “Valorplate” which can be modified and upgraded based on your own playstyle preferences.

Godfall will offer multiplayer co-op for up to three players as they slash, shoot, and loot their way through gorgeous backdrops. The game has been likened to Destiny and Warframe and it’s easy to see why.

Planned for a release this holiday season, Godfall may well be a launch title for the PlayStation 5. It’s worth pointing out that the game will also be coming to PC at the same time via the Epic Games Store. We’d hazard a guess that PS5/PC crossplay will be enabled.

Given the timing of this new Godfall teaser – just days before Sony’s originally planned PlayStation 5 reveal date – it’s safe to assume that the multiplayer title would have been one of the next gen games being showcased.

For those who missed the news, Sony confirmed yesterday that it would be delaying its reveal event due to protests sweeping the United States following the killing of George Floyd. They made the following statement:

We have decided to postpone the PlayStation 5 event scheduled for June 4. While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games, we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration and for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard.

Yesterday publisher EA also announced that they are delaying their reveal for this year’s NFL Madden game. That game is obviously incredibly US centric with a predominantly US audience, but also a high proportion of Black American sports personalities. The sport has been indelibly linked with the Black Lives Matter movement since its inception, thanks to Colin Kaepernick and fellow players kneeling during the national anthem.
