Mafia Definitive Edition was quite the surprise announcement and what was even more surprising that this would be a full rebuilt remake, with everything updated for the modern-day. The story stays the same mostly but the gameplay will be different including creating a setting that feels much more lived-in, making roads wider, and changing some of the city layouts so it would be more fun to drive around. The new trailer shows the cinematics from the game.
When Mafia Definitive Edition was announced Haden Blackman, President and CCO at Hangar 13 said:
“Nearly 20 years after the Mafia series started, we now have an amazing opportunity to introduce this beloved game to a new generation of players and give longtime fans a chance to relive Tommy’s story with a stellar modern presentation, as well as new story elements and gameplay features.”
The original Mafia was released in 2002 and followed the story of Thomas Angelo during the 1930s, and shows him go from cab driver to a member of the mafia. Mafia: Definitive Edition releases August 28 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Hopefully, it will be a better experience than people have had with Mafia II: Definitive Edition which has had problems from framerate, graphics, and sounds.
