Bethesda has confirmed that QuakeCon is back on. Well, in a way at least. Back in March, Bethesda announced it was cancelling QuakeCon due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, and the real stinger was that this year’s QuakeCon would have been the 25th one. However, it looks like Bethesda has decided to take a leaf out of other publishers’ playbooks and has confirmed that QuakeCon will be happening this year as an online event. The event is called QuakeCone At Home and will run from August 7th until August 9th. The announcement can of the event can be read below.
This year we’re celebrating @QuakeCon @ Home. Join us for a global online event taking place August 7-9, including livestreams, tournaments, charity fundraising, and a few fun secrets. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks! pic.twitter.com/84ai33i7ti

QuakeCon At Home will include livestreams of current titles. ways to fundraise for charities, tournaments, and some surprise announcements. In recent years we have seen the gameplay reveals of DOOM (2016), Prey, and DOOM Eternal during the event. What will be shown during this event is unknown for now, but we could see more about DOOM Eternal’s DLC. Also, who can forget the Prey VR listing from earlier this month? Maybe, that will be announced during QuakeCon if it is a real game. Whatever the announcements you can be sure that we will have them covered on the site.
