Having relaunched their Play at Home initiative for 2021 with Ratchet & Clank for PS4, Sony has now revealed an impressive lineup of 10 more free games that they will be giving away this spring. It includes games like Horizon Zero Dawn for PS4, Astro Bot Rescue Mission for PSVR, and more, with the first batch of games arriving of 25th March.
As a reminder, these games are yours to keep forever, you just need a PlayStation Store account to add them to. There’s no requirement to have PlayStation Plus, for example. Oh, and Ratchet & Clank for PS4 is still available until 31st March at 8PM PDT (4AM BST on 1st April).
Here’s the games that will be made available:
Play at Home 2021 – available on 25th March
- Abzu (PS4)
- Enter the Gungeon (PS4)
- Rez Infinite (PS4)
- Subnautica (PS4)
- The Witness (PS4)
- Astro Bot Rescue Mission (PSVR)
- Moss (PSVR)
- Thumper (PSVR)
- Paper Beast (PSVR)
All of these games will be available from 25th March at 8PM Pacific Time (4AM UK time), until 22nd April.
That’s not all, because from 19th April, Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition (including the base game and the Frozen Wilds DLC) will be given away for free.
That’s a lot of great games all being given away for free, following a renewed commitment to the need to stay at home for many around the world. At the end of February, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan announced the initiative’s return, saying, “In these historic times, the team at PlayStation wanted to thank the community by giving something back. These days, we could all use something to look forward to and another reason to stay safely socially distanced, so we are happy to be able to offer a free selection of great games and some entertainment offers.[…]
“This year, we wanted to go further [with Play At Home]. So we’ve designed a series of free games and entertainment offers for our PlayStation community to make the next few months a little more fun and enjoyable.”

That is kind of Sony to give us more free games – but they’ve been tempting us unmercifully with sale after sale during lockdown so they aren’t going broke either :)
I only own 3 of the 9 games plus i’ve only played the vanilla H:ZD so these will keep me going for a bit.

5 of the 9, plus another on PS Now, and the complete H:ZD on PS Now as well for me.
Still, another 3 games for free, and a couple I can hopefully turn into a full licence instead of just having them on PS Now.
Well done Sony.

I’m more tempted by that list than most things on Gamepass, though some of the Bethesda games like Prey are pretty ace.

This is supremely generous of Sony, there’s a good breadth of stuff there with what I’m sure is an intentional but still good intentioned Horizon 2 promotion. Brilliant.

That’s better now than just offering one game which was already on Plus. I own 6 out of those 10 already, though, but receiving the HZD DLC is nice, of course. Again, together with the Plus collection, I got more games than I’ll ever be able to play, but that is a luxury problem to have.
