The first PSVR 2 game has been revealed

The first game to be officially announced for PlayStation VR 2 has been revealed and it’s cyberpunk thriller Low-FI from Iris VR Inc. I don’t think I would be wrong in suggesting the game is heavily influenced by Blade Runner, the trailer shows flying cars zooming around a neon lit city with giant holographic adverts, check it out.

The game was originally announced for Oculus Rift and the current PSVR unit but a recent tweet from Blair Renaud, part of the team working on the game, was tagged with #PSVR2 and #PS5.

Here’s more about the game:

LOW-Fi is the spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed TECHNOLUST (available now on Oculus Home).

A next generation virtual reality simulation in which you as the player patrol the streets (and the skies above them) solving mysteries, fighting crime, or giving in to corruption. The choice is yours.

As the player, you are “low-fi”, the street name given to those who cannot merge with the platform, a ubiquitous virtual reality simulation where most of the population now live their lives. You are a police officer and have been transferred to a particularly crime ridden section of city-block 303. The only inhabitants of note in your jurisdiction are other low-fi, and the human intelligence (or lower) artificial life forms who have remained among the citizens after the AI singularity.

Sony have confirmed that a next-generation VR system is in the works and coming to PlayStation 5, replacing the original PlayStation VR with a new headset that is designed to take advantage of the new generation of console hardware. There’s no word on when PSVR 2 will be coming to market, outside of that it will not be launching in 2021. You can read more here.

Sony have also revealed the PSVR 2 controllers and they are very snazzy, you can read more about them here.
