Horizon Forbidden West gameplay reveal stream is happening on Thursday

A Horizon Forbidden West gameplay reveal stream will be held on Thursday 27th May in a State of Play event. The stream will start at 2PM PDT / 10PM BST (UK time) / 11PM CEST, hosted on the PlayStation Twitch and YouTube channels.

The State of Play stream will debut the first Horizon Forbidden West gameplay in a 20 minute video, showcasing 14 minutes of new in-game action with Aloy on her new adventure. Everything has been captured from PlayStation 5, so expect it to look extra lovely, though the game is also releasing on PlayStation 4.

Will we also maybe get a release date? Horizon Forbidden West is expected to release later in 2021, so we can cross our fingers that we can find out when exactly to mark on our calendars. A few weeks ago Wired spoke to Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Jim Ryan and during the interview where it was confirmed that the game was still going to be released this year.

Guerrilla studio director Angie Smets also spoke about the Dualsense controller and how it brings the game alive. ”If you want to take a stealth approach to a combat situation and you dive into long grass,” she said, “you can feel those long grass leaves.”

Hermen Hulst, a Guerrilla co-founder and now PlayStation Studios head added “I spent some time yesterday with Horizon Forbidden West for the first time in seven or eight months. To step away and to come back to it? Talk about giving me a gift.”

Horizon Zero Dawn sequel Horizon Forbidden West was revealed during the PS5 event and will see Aloy and the mechanical creatures arrive on the console in a big way. Guerrilla Games has released two screenshots that show very different areas of Horizon Forbidden West. The first shows a downed plane in a waterfall surrounded by greenery and what appears to be machine pterodactyl. The second is in the desert and seems to show some kind of encampment.

Sony have confirmed d Horizon Forbidden West will all be cross-gen releases, coming to PS4 as well as PS5 and they will offer free upgrades from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, whether you buy digitally or physically.
