Original story below…
Sony are set to reveal the June PlayStation Plus games today, May 26th at 4.30pm BST UK time. The games will then be ready to download and play less than a week later on June 1st, which will be very nice for everyone in the UK as our summer seems to have failed miserably and it’s been cold and raining for weeks, perfect gaming weather.
So, what are the games going to be? Well, Spanish site areajugones.sport.es correctly leaked last month’s PlayStation Plus games and as well as the new DualSense colours, have stepped up once again with their suggestion for the June titles.
According to the site the games are Star Wars: Squadrons, and rather surprisingly, Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, a brand new PlayStation 4 exclusive remake of the classic fighting game.
The game is being rebuilt from scratch in RGG’s Dragon Engine, which has previously been seen in Yakuza 6, Yakuza Kiwami 2, Judgment, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and will be seen again in the upcoming Lost Judgment. All of the stages will have new background music, there will be a new UI, a new opening cinematic and more.
Star Wars: Squadrons was released in October 2020 with good reviews, we scored it a respectable 8/10.Â
“Star Wars Squadrons has taken an impressive first step in revitalising the Star Wars fighter pilot game,” said Dom. “With a tale that feels like a genuine part of the galaxy far, far away, and space combat that gives you the tools to be an X-Wing or TIE fighting ace. Whether you’re on the light or the dark side of the Force, this is a game that Star Wars fans need to play.”
PlayStation players get an added bonus as the game is fully playable from start to finish with PlayStation VR.
The final game rumoured to be included is Operation Tango. In the game one player takes on the role of Agent named Angel while the other player takes on the role of the Hacker named Alastair, and together they have to work together to successfully complete missions.

Squadrons is a lot of fun, and absolutely essential if you’ve got a Fancy Hat. Looks even better in VR on a PS5.
Operation: Tango looks interesting. And if you haven’t managed to get hold a PS5 yet, you should at least be able to add it to your library and then ask a friend to play it with you. From what the developers have said, there’s a “friend pass” (a common thing with those types of games), so you can download the PS4 version and a PS5 owning friend can let you play. But you won’t get any trophies. And cross play with PC and XBox too.
