Rocksmith+ announced at Ubisoft Forward, PC closed beta starts today

Ubisoft has announced Rocksmith+ during the Ubisoft Forward event. It is the Rocksmith formula of playing a real guitar along to songs amplified as the software is much more an integrated kit. Rocksmith+ is a subscription based service with players able to download an app on their phones that will act as a microphone. Players will not need any extra gear to play along outside of their phones. There will be chord charts and note for note ways to play.

Rocksmith+ will have much more in depth progress tracking for beginner and intermediate players, tracking playing technique and speed not just on one song but on a more personal level. This will give players a chance to really understand where to go when learning, along with a deep recommendation system that will guide players through a musical journey. Also included in the subscription service of Rocksmith+ is the Rocksmith Workshop where players can make arrangements using the licensed songs available in the catalogue. Advanced players will have a full tablature view giving a familiar look when learning songs. Players will be able to use the standard features of slowing down compositions so they can nail them before moving on.

Ubisoft has also confirmed that the chance to register for the closed PC beta for Rocksmith+ will begin right after the Ubisoft Forward stream. Rocksmith+ will be available for $14.99 per month, $39.99 for a 3-month subscription, and $99.99 for a 12-month subscription. If you want to sign up for the closed beta for Rocksmith+ you will need to sign up here. The beta itself will last approximately six weeks, starting today and running until July 22nd. A Ubisoft account will be required to take part in the closed beta as well. A full release date for Rocksmith+ is yet to be confirmed by Ubisoft.
