Naraka: Bladepoint will be coming to consoles soon, starting with PS5, the game’s developer 24 Entertainment has announced.

Having been in beta for a while now, Naraka is fast approaching its official PC launch date on August 12th for both Steam and the Epic Games Store.

However, this is the first confirmation we’ve had of a console version. 24 Entertainment haven’t said when or which other platforms Naraka will arrive on besides PS5. That said, we’d hazard a guess at PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S versions being in the pipeline.

Naraka: Bladepoint is the latest rival to enter the battle royale scene. However, just one look tells you it isn’t going for the same vibe as a Fortnite or Warzone. In each match 60 players will clash on open battlefields, unleashing a devastating arsenal of weapons and abilities as they get to grips with Naraka’s playable heroes.

Aside from its striking visual style and frenzied combat mechanics, another aspect that really stands out is how warriors effortlessly navigate the map. 24 Entertainment have crafted a movement system that forces players to think vertically as they scale and run along walls, dunking on their opponents from above.

Gameplay footage of the PS5 version has been uploaded, courtesy of IGN who were able to get some early hands on time. While it doesn’t show an actual match being played, the tutorial gives you some idea of how Naraka will play.

If you can’t wait to play it on PS5, there’s another game that might just keep you busy in the meantime. Hunter’s Arena: Legends launches next month on Sony’s new console and will be free to anyone with an active PlayStation Plus subscription. It looks to tick many of the same boxes with similar thematic influences and a PvE/battle royale focus. Hunter’s Arena will also allow cross-play with PC users (take notes, Naraka).
