A new trailer has been released for We Are OFK, announcing that the game is coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, in addition to the PC release already announced. The game is interactive narrative series all about struggling to find a place in the LA music scene.
Announced back at The Game Awards in 2020 and then making another appearance at E3 2021, the game’s story features Itsumi Saito, who’s just moved to Downtown LA after breaking up with her long-term girlfriend, looking to make it big in the music industry. You’ll have to juggle practice, friendships, commuting and a full-time job, but Itsumi gets a golden opportunity to make her dreams come true. From there, it’s a game of texting, forging friendships between a group of 20-somethings, more texting, and maybe a bit of love.
Her story and that of the indie band Team OFK will be told through five episodes, with five interactive music videos that are all debut tracks performed by OFK. There’s full-voiced dialogue, and the game explores original Los Angeles locations along the way. It looks really interesting, a slice of life drama with concept album vibes.
We look forward to seeing more of the game over the coming months. It’s coming to PC via Steam and now for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2022.
