THQ Nordic confirms that it will have a digital showcase in August

THQ Nordic has confirmed that it will be hosting a digital showcase on August 12th, with the times of the showcase being 12.00 AM PDT / 3 PM EDT / 8 PM BST / 21:00 CEST /10 PM EEST. THQ Nordic has already confirmed two games that will be spoken about during the showcase with those being Jagged Alliance 3 and Outcast 2 – A New Beginning. Of course, we are also waiting for release dates on SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, and Destroy All Humans 2 – Reprobed.

In addition to those games, THQ Nordic will be announcing new titles which will range from original IPs to licensed titles. Maybe a new Darksiders could be revealed or Wreckfest 2. The company does also own the licenses to franchises such as Carmageddon, Alone In The Dark, Risen, Gothic, Stuntman, and Sacred so the company may look to resurrect one of those or one of a number of other franchises that it holds the rights to.

THQ Nordic’s Showcase will be at least one event filling the void following the cancellation of E3 2022, as well as EA Play Live. The Summer Game Fest has already been confirmed, so we’ll get to see plenty of Geoff again, and we’ll likely have a showcase from Microsoft and Bethesda, Nintendo, Ubisoft, Sony, and something wild and outlandish from Devolver Digital. E3 is expected to return in 2023 but in the changing landscape of the way publishers communicate with players there are questions as to the future of an event like E3. It has lost its lustre in part due to the cancellations because of the pandemic, and the fact that companies are doing their own events when it suits them, instead of solely waiting for a big event in the middle of summer.
