Roll7’s side-scrolling skateboarding game OlliOlli World will receive its first DLC expansion next month. VOID RIders will be released on 15th June across all launch platforms, and will be the first of two planned for the game.
OlliOlli World VOID Riders will throw a bunch of new alien-themed content into the game as the “extra steezy” extraterrestrials Sair’Rah, Khehvyn, and Pftangxi arrive in Radlandia, intent on abducting the best skaters out there for their ruler, the mighty Nebulord.
If you’ve played OlliOlli World already, then that daft tone will absolutely fit and make sense to you, as the game is expanded with a new world of challenges, space-age gear to unlock as you grind and trick through the VOID. New tractor beam mechanics will mix things up, while you trick and try to impress the Nebulord with your skill.
VOID Riders will be priced at £9.99, while those buying the Rad Edition of the game for £35.99 will have it bundled in alongside the upcoming second DLC expansion (expected in late 2022) and the ‘Close Encounter Skate Deck’ cosmetic.
OlliOlli World was a return to skateboarding for developer Roll7, having dabbled with side-scrolling shooters with Not a Hero and future sports games in the form of Laser League. It brought a brand new style to the series visuals with 3D rendered worlds and a quirky, laid back but radical attitude, while introducing a whole host of new gameplay ideas along the way. It’s a tad more welcoming for newcomers, but even OlliOlli 2 veterans will have plenty of new tricks to learn and master through its increasingly wild and challenging levels.”
