The Division Resurgence announced as a mobile spin off

The Division Resurgence reveal

The Division Resurgence is the next The Division game, Ubisoft has confirmed. This new chapter in the franchise will be a mobile only experience with it telling a new story in Manhattan. The game will feature an open world for players to explore with it featuring both solo and co-op content, with modes lifted from the mainline games. There will be new gear and weapons to try out as well.

In The Division Resurgence players will take on the role of agents of the Strategic Homeland Division, with players having to hold off hostile forces while assisting regular people in rebuilding their lives. The game will touch on events that take place in The Division and The Division 2, with new perspectives given on some of the key moments from both. There will be customisation available for player characters along with gear upgrades too. As progress is made players will level up to take on some of the bigger threats stalking Manhattan.

A closed alpha test will be taking place for The Division Resurgence. To sign up players will need to head over to the official site and answer some questions. Those interested will have to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement and agree not to share details about the alpha. Invites will be sent out in waves to players along with access to a private forum to talk about the game experience. The game itself has been optimised for mobile play with controls and the user interface specifically designed for a mobile layout. It is not yet known when The Division Resurgence will get a full global release, but it will be available on both Android and iOS. The game will be a free to play title but details on paid premium content has not yet been confirmed.
