Celebrating the annual Quakecon, Bethesda has thrown a bunch of back-catalogue id Software FPS and Elder Scrolls games onto Xbox Game Pass for PC. Quake 4 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein have both been dusted off for the occasion,
This content drop is purely about the PC version of Game Pass, with none of the games being added for Xbox consoles or streaming (which relies on the console releases of games).

Here’s what’s now on Xbox Game Pass for PC:

- Quake 4 (PC)Â
- Return to Castle Wolfenstein (PC) Â

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also get:

Return to Castle Wolfenstein is an absolute gem from the early 2000s. Developed by Gray Matter Interactive and Nerve Software, it was a remake of the Wolfenstein mythos, with BJ Blazkowicz on the trail of Deathshead’s plot to unleash mystical forces and biological weapons upon the Allies. It’s something of a standalone title within the Wolfenstein franchise, with the 2009 Wolfenstein largely ignoring it, and then the MachineGames Wolfenstein series heading off in a thoroughly different direction.
Quake 4 is also good to see, a launch title for the Xbox 360 (though that’s not being included today) and a pretty tough test for PCs of the day as it used a modified version of the Doom 3 game engine. After the multiplayer-only Quake 3, it continued the story of Quake II and the invasion of Stroggos, now with AI buddies, and other gameplay twists that were increasingly common in the mid-2000s.
It’s a busy month for Xbox Game Pass, and PC Game Pass in particular. Earlier this week, Microsoft announced a slate of new games coming to Xbox Game Pass through the second half of the month, including Immortals Fenyx Rising and Midnight Fight Express. Then, the last few days has seen them teasing the addition of Death Stranding to Game Pass for PC, which was confirmed today. Add all the Quakecon games to the mix, and that’s a whole lot of games!
