Song of Iron 2 has been revealed by Resting Relic during the ID@Xbox Showcase, and it has been confirmed that the game will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Song of Iron 2 is expected to be released in 2023. The trailer below shows gameplay of the action platformer where a tribe faces off against a space faring Empire.
“I am excited to finally reveal part two of the Song of Iron saga! I am taking player feedback and everything I learned from the first game and pouring it into Song of Iron 2,” said Joe Winter, solo developer and founder of Resting Relic “Song of Iron 2 is a direct continuation of Brekka Chainbreaker’s story, but I’ll make sure to catch players that missed the first game up, so everyone will be able to jump right in and play! I’m also looking forward to players who sign up to check out the demo”
The story outline of Song of Iron 2 is as follows. “Breka Chainbreaker traverses the realm in search of allies to stand up against the daunting space-faring empire, now revealed as the false deities the tribes once worshipped. Voyage across a dark fantasy, Norse-inspired archipelago and recruit Viking clans to support your cause.”
As the trailer shows, fights will be methodical and will take a bit of skill to navigate as you defend and attack in quick succession to make progress. The soldiers of the Empire are not the only enemies Breka will have to contend with. There will be other Vikings, draugr, trolls, and beasts that patrol the mountains. A demo for Song of Iron 2 is being released as well via Steam. To claim a demo key, you will need to head over to the official Song of Iron 2 website and sign up to the newsletter.
