STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl new gameplay trailer looks fantastic

stalker 2 release date

GSC Game World has released a brand new gameplay trailer for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and it really sets the tone of what to expect. The trailer gives us an introduction to some characters, though does not reveal their names. You can see that there are all sorts of angles at play from these small dialogue sessions that are impacting the world. On top of that the new STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl trailer has lots of action packed gameplay.

The action shots show the player getting into combat with both human and non-human enemies alike, evoking sense of danger in some of the scenarios. We also see the open world of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl from trodden down and ruined buildings, to wide open fields full of greenery. The story of the game is non-linear so you can go wherever you wish to in the world, though you may not be fully prepared to meet all of its challenges straight away.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl’s development has been eventful on its own. In 2021, GSC World announced it would be incorporating NFTs into the game. However, those plans were quickly cancelled after a lot of backlash. Then, earlier this year, this year the Russian invasion of Ukraine saw the development of the game paused. Many of the team were able to relocate to the Czech Republic while others stayed back to fight back. Those who relocated were then able to resume development of the title. Earlier this week, there was news that one of the developers of the game, Volodymyr Yezhov, was killed in battle against Russian forces.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released in 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. The game will be coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one.
