Where to watch The Last of Us episode 2 in the UK

It’s the hottest new HBO series and what looks to be one of the best video game adaptations of recent years, but where can you watch The Last of Us episode 2 when it airs in the UK?

For our friends in the US, there’s HBO and HBO Max though neither are available here in the UK. Frustratingly, the subscription-based service has been live in some European countries for some time now but PlayStation fans will have to find another way to watch The Last of Us.

Where can I watch The Last of Us in the UK?

The solution? Currently, the only way to catch episodes is via Sky Atlantic or Sky Now. If you simply cannot wait for the next chapter in Joel and Ellie’s saga, then you can catch it live at 2AM BST each Monday on Sky Atlantic – it will then be available to watch on Sky Now, Sky’s subscription-based service.

Where to watch The Last of Us episodes online for free?

Just as they did with Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, HBO and Sky have now uploaded the first episode directly to their YouTube channels. Head here for all the details.

Don’t despair if you then want to watch the rest of the show – if you really don’t want to fork out the money for a Now subscription in the UK, there is a 7-day free trial available. If you can stay clear of spoilers until The Last of Us season 1 ends, or know what’s going to happen, then you could quite easily wait and binge all nine episodes before your trial expires. Make sure you cancel your subscription before it renews (£9.99 a month). Also, make sure you select the Entertainment package.

Is The Last of Us good?

It’s early doors for the HBO long-awaited TV adaptation though critics (some of whom have had access to the entire series) have been mostly glowing in their reviews. In our own impressions we wrote:

It’s a strong first showing and one that holds plenty of easter eggs and tiny details The Last of Us fans have already been analysing. There are also elements we haven’t touched upon, including certain side characters, the incredible set designs, and soundtrack, all of which mesh together in a way that feels wholly authentic to the TLOU universe.

Following the TV show, what’s next for The Last of Us? At some point this year we expect to see more of Naughty Dog’s standalone multiplayer experience set in the TLOU universe after recently sharing some concept art.
