Sony has announced the Playstation Plus game catalogue update for March 2023, with a whole host of games joining the library of games available for PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium subscriberd
Headlining the new games is Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection for PS5, which remasters Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy for the new generation console, but there’s plenty more besides that. Ubisoft’s contributions include co-op tactical alien shooter Rainbow Six Extraction and fantasy adventure Immortals Fenyx Rising, while Square Enix is adding Life Is Strange 2 and Life Is Strange: True Colors, amongst some of their RPGs like Neo The World Ends With You.
Timed exclusive Ghostwire: Tokyo is joining PS Plus ahead of its Xbox release in April, and there’s another Bethesda game in Rage 2 being chucked in there as well.
And then we come to the indies, with Haven and Untitled Goose Game alongside the day 1 release addition of Tchia, this lovely looking adventure on a fictionalised take on New Caledonia.
Sony’s also adding retro classics here and there for PS Plus Premium subscribers. There’s Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidge Racer! with the PS1 game Ridge Racer Type 4, and a pair of PSP titles with Ape Academy 2 and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror – do we now have the entirety of the Syphon Filter series on PS Plus Premium?

What actually is PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium?
The PlayStation Plus relaunch rolled out around the world in June 2022, transforming the PS Plus we once knew into a three tiered subscription service that bundles in and expands what was once PlayStation Now. The classic PS Plus is now called PS Plus Essential, giving access to online multiplayer gaming, cloud save backups, exclusive offers and at least 2 free monthly games. PS Plus Extra then adds a catalogue of PS4 and PS5 games into the mix, while PS Plus Deluxe and Premium (depending on your region) adds older PS2, PS1 and PSP game emulation, and game streaming for PS3 and other titles.
Sony has now established a fortnightly rhythm with the PS Plus monthly games for all subscribers rolling out on the first Tuesday of each month, before a library update for the Game Catalogue comes in the middle of the month two weeks later.

Some good games in there, cool. But, again, I see close to zero reason to stay on Premium instead of Extra as soon as my first year runs out.

Oh, and I doubt these Bethesda games will be on Plus for long…

Nah. Microsoft and Bethesda will keep cycling games in and out of PS Plus, just as they have done the last few years. Right now there’s Fallout 4 and 76, Skyrim and TESO, Deathloop, Wolfenstein: TNO, Doom and Prey, and then these two additions. No, it’s not every Bethesda game, but it’s keeping these games generating money on PlayStation, shows willingness to work with Sony (which will have to be shown for years to come), etc. etc.

Right, it’s just the new games that never make it to PlayStation anymore, older and already existing games must still make some profit. Makes sense.
