Farworld Pioneers, a 2D side scrolling survival title, will be released on May 30th, Igloosoft and TinyBuild have announced. The aim is to go from surviving on harsh alien worlds to thriving with large colonies that can sustain a lot of people. Farworld Pioneers will support both single player and multiplayer.
“Farworld Pioneers is a combination of many different genres and mechanics,” said Rho Watson, Founder and Developer, Igloosoft. “We’ve combined a sandbox experience with AI colonists and base-building mechanics to give players a reason to always be expanding and improving their colony.”
Players will start their journey with their best friend Buddy and a survival pod, and will have to gather resources, hunt the local wildlife for food, and conduct research. As research tiers are met the colony will grow, and eventually players will be able to send colonists to other planets to discover new resources and build more colonies.
Multiplayer will contain both co-operative and PvP elements, with servers able to support up to 32 players. People will be able to move between both multiplayer modes thanks to dynamic faction system that is in place. Monsters will generate randomly so your colonists and base could be attacked at any time. As the colony grows, raiders will attack to do damage and take things.
Farworld Pioneers will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Switch. The game will also be available on PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass. A demo is available on Steam.
