Just a couple weeks after its first big gameplay reveal, a new trailer for Space Marine 2 has been released showing off the game’s three-player co-op story mode. Space Marine 2 is set to release this winter across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The story sees the Ultramarines facing off against a horde of Tyranids on Ultramar – truly, these hive minded hordes will be “A worthy adversary” for the defenders of the Imperium.
Space Marine 2 was revealed in 2021, and is in development at Saber Interactive who are best known for World War Z and Snowrunner. The horde element from World War Z definitely plays a part in the build of Space Marine 2.
While it’s a completely different game studio, we can look back on the original. The 2011 Space Marine was a decent crack at creating a 40K third person shooter with a decent story battling against Orkish hordes. In our review of Space Marine, Dan said, “Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine has been a pleasant surprise. It provides a good story wrapped in some very enjoyable gameplay mechanics. Whilst it does have a few niggles, there’s no denying that it’s a hoot to play through as you hack, slash and blast your way to the Spire.”
Space Marine 2 is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2023.
