That first week of the year is always a funny one. Coming out of the ‘Crimbo Limbo’, I always feel there’s another few weeks before the games industry truly gets back into the swing of things. It won’t be long before it’s February, though, and we’re being bombarded with big game releases again!

We started off the year with some reviews of games that we didn’t manage to squeeze into the end of the last.

Through the end of the 2023 we had our Game of the Year awards, building up to the overall winner on New Years Eve. Who took home the biggest prize? Well, it was the simply sublime CRPG Baldur’s Gate 3!
Then, through the week we also rounded off our Most Wanted 2024 series. You can catch up on the full list here, but our top five went through Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Star Wars Outlaws, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and finally Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Rounding out the week, What We Played, featured Starfield, Super Mario Wonder and Taiko no Tatsujin!
