Sony has confirmed that the Until Dawn movie will be released on April 25th, 2025 through its Screen Gems company (via Deadline). The Until Dawn movie was announced earlier this year, with David F Sandberg sitting in the director’s seat. He has previously directed horror movies Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation, as well as the more lighthearted superhero movie Shazam!
Until Dawn’s cast includes Peter Stormare, who has a long career of acting in big blockbusters as well as in videogames, Michael Cimino, Ella Rubin, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Odessa A’zion, and Maia Mitchell. How Until Dawn will translate to the cinematic screen remains to be seen, as the game has multiple branches and endings to it depending on player choices. For all we know, there will be multiple versions of the movie with different outcomes, or it will set its own unique ending different to the ones found in the game. Until Dawn’s story follows a group of young adults who are staying at a remote lodge on Blackwood Mountain which, unbeknownst to them, is a hunting ground of sorts and they are they prey. Every playable character in Until Dawn can be killed off at any moment, depending on the player’s own decisions, which is why it is almost impossible to predict which story path the movie will take.
Until Dawn Review
Until Dawn was recently remade and released, following its original release in 2014. In our review for the remake of Until Dawn, Tuffcub said, “Until Dawn remains a fantastic horror game with great acting and plenty of jump scares to get you out of your seat. While not essential for anyone that enjoyed the original game, this remake brings it to a new audience and is a solid update to what was already a great game.”
