Have you played so much PUBG that you’ve developed… feelings for your favourite guns in the game? Well, lucky you, because Krafton has released a new dating sim for the month of April, called Winner Winner Romantic Dinner.
Yes, it’s an April Fools gag, but yes, it’s a real thing that you can play here, so long as you don’t mind it using AI game development.
The anime dating game has become a bit of a go-to gag, starting off with that game where you can date Colonel Sanders of KFC fame, and more recently, with the Dead By Daylight dating sim Hooked On You. Mixing this with PUBG is…. well, it’s amongst the weirdest, but maybe not quite.
Featured in the game are anime girlf-ified versions of the Molotov Cocktail – a fiery redhead, of course – AKM, AUG, and KAR98K. You’ll also, quite obviously, be attending school where you meet them.
This game has been created by Krafton’s AI game development studio ReLU Games, with generative AI used to create variations of character and background images. This is a pretty touchy subject between game developers and gamers right now. Krafton also encourage players to allow microphone access with voice recognition – if you play without mic access, mini-games will not be available.
If you reach one of the three game ending, you’ll receive a reward. These are 10Â Contraband Coupons to use within PUBG Battlegrounds, and an anime gun girl-themed nameplate. Reach all three and you can get a new spray, emblem and 500 G-Coin to spend in-game.
The game is available to play until 29th April.
There’s also a PUBG in-game event called Land, Love, Survive across PC and console. Running until 8th April at 2AM UTC, this pushes players toward co-op play with social and squad-based missions to reward Event Tokens, BP, Hunter’s Chests, Keys and Contraband Coupons. Find the details in-game.
