Team17 and dev partner Radical Forge have announced that Golf With Your Friends 2 is shaping up for a release in the autumn of 2026, heading to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2 with full cross-platform multiplayer.
This is a bit of a re-announcement for Golf With Your Friends 2, which was initially confirmed back in December 2024 and in development with a new studio, but is looking to make its claim to daft online 12-player multiplayer gaming once again. I think you can really see how the environments have been improved for this game over the rough and ready approach of the original, and that feeds through the six new courses and the enhanced Level Editor 2.0. There’s also more dynamic course design that promises evolving challenges.
Of course, you also want to show off, dressing up your balls in little hats and now with a new “Hole Explosions” cosmetic which, uh…. isn’t as rude as it sounds.
It will feature:
- Six Unique New Courses – Each map introduces its own gameplay mechanic, from gravity shifts to environmental traversal twists
- Dynamic Course Design – No two courses play the same, offering constantly evolving challenges
- Enhanced Level Editor 2.0 – Intuitive tools, advanced customization, and precision control for building and sharing custom courses
- Hole Explosions – New cosmetic system that adds celebratory visual effects to every successful shot
- Deep Customization Options – Wide variety of cosmetic items to personalize your golf ball
- Free-to-Unlock Rewards System – Clear progression path
Looking back on the original, there’s still plenty of miniature golfing fun to be had here. In our Golf With Your Friends review, I said, “Golf With Your Friends has all the rage-inducing charms of minigolf to savour while playing with your chums. With plenty of varied courses to play through and some good variations, there’s a lot of fun to be had, even if the game often feels inconsistent and unpolished.”
