Halo Studios and Xbox have dropped a new trailer for Halo: Campaign Evolved, the modern remake of the original game’s campaign, and it’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on 28th July 2026. Day one on Game Pass Ultimate too, of course.

This is more than a simple remake and it is making some gameplay tweaks and adding new missions into the mix. While this is Unreal Engine providing the graphics, Halo Studios is following the fairly common process of wrapping Unreal Engine around an older or original game engine, ensuring that the game feel will be close to Halo games at large.

Halo: Combat Evolved will have two player local co-op, but then an expanded four player online co-op, which is leading to some levels being redesigned to accommodate having more players. Additionally, there are new weapons, including the Battle Rifle that debuted in Halo 2, more vehicles to use, and Chief has gained later game moves like being able to sprint and to hijack vehicles. But there are also three new missions, prequel missions that feature Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson.

It’s this content that was featured in the new trailer, jumping back to around 1 year before the events of Halo to show Chief and Sgt. Johnson kicking butt, with space flying missions, and more.
