While next week sees the start of the 2014 leaderboards, as explained at the top of the article, it’s over to the Fastest Platinum boards as a inferior race has plugged in all the latest records you’ve given him. It’s a task not quite as tricky or time consuming as actually ploughing through hour after hour of game time, pushing yourself to get the platinum first, but it’s still a task which I’m grateful he does.
Anyway, you should put your fastest records into the Fastest Platinum thread, and if you fancy it, even dig back into your trophy lists to see if you can steal some current records away.

Out of curiosity, how feasible is it to set up a “Quickest Platinum” leaderboard? As opposed to being the first person to earn the plat, the person who earns it the quickest – ie, time taken from the first trophy earned to the platinum…
I think that’d be an interesting twist as not everyone can afford to buy a game on release day and hammer it whereas someone might buy it a year after release and earn the plat within a week.

We had a look at this before. There were two problems.
1. Most people couldn’t be bothered going through their records again which took a while when it was first setup.
2. Calculating the time was an additional step for people and there are advantages yo completing a game later on as there are guides available.

The psnprofiles website tells you how long it took so that’s one less pain in the backside, but yeah, the guides bit makes sense… But then, does it matter if it’s kept seperate from the (more prestigious) fastest plats list? Plus, some plats are far more reliant on skill than others so guides are of bugger all use.
