Square Enix have released sixteen minutes of gameplay footage taken from Hitman Absolution.
The video finds Agent 47 unarmed and being tracked by police, his only hope of escape being bookcases that have a boarded back on the bottom two shelves. Curiously, the rest of the bookcase is open both sides (see for yourself at 4m 05s), perhaps persons of a small stature only like taking books from one side.
The video shows some lovely lighting effects (check out the rain on the windows) and sly humour as the sneaky Agent quietly subdues a Policeman standing next to a ‘Silence please!” sign.
The footage also shows a helicopter attack, Agent 47 dressed as a policeman and a man in boxers shorts running off with a suspicious looking pot plant.
Maybe it’s his favourite Begonia.

This looks pretty stunning.. Although not sure how you could take one out quietly with a vase..
Gamoc
Well you have to learn these things as a hitman if you want to stay a head.
Ben
Impressive indeed. That vase didn’t sounds so quiet to me!

I saw this the other day, it looks good..
Before commenting, please bear in mind that Hitman has always given the choice to shoot your way through things as well as be stealthy, so this does not represent a departure from that. The amount of ‘it’s not Hitman anymore!’ whining I’ve seen is incredible. I’m fairly certain the devs have already said that you can make your way through the whole level stealthily.
The cops deciding to open fire when he’s holding the human shield is a surprisingly emotionally-charged moment.

I agree with you completely. They’ve made four games in this series so far and in all you can be a ‘Silent Assassin’, so I don’t see why they’d ruin it now. This is an awesome video that makes me really want to play the game.

Maybe you could disguise yourself as one of those inept cops that come in near the end and walk out the exit to avoid the whole chopper sequence then.
Or maybe this is a training level like the first level of Blood Money, which you could not Silent Assassin.
I love all the new mechanics, especially the slow mo’s as you walk past suspicious people. I’m hoping for a Splinter Cell type mark + execute mechanic to take out two targets quickly, this was a major pain in the other games.

This looks awesome. The details are amazing. Never played any of the Hitman games but will give this a go. I usually lack the patience to get by unnoticed and I’m never sure what actually raises enough suspicion so that they notice me. There were a few moments where I thought it was pretty unrealistic that he wasn’t spotted but I guess it’s just a matter of time to get a feel for it.

I can now see exactly what halbpro was talking about with the window shot esterday. This looks phenomenal. I couldn’t care less how much it is like the others, my only exposire was the Timothy Olyphant film, of which this trailer is a significant improvement.

Haven’t ever been a massive fan of the games, but i have to say that i actually really enjoyed the movie! :S

Maybe it’s worthy of a second watch. I think I caught it on Sky and missed the start to be honest.
Forrest_01
Oh don’t get me wrong, it won’t be winning any oscars any time soon, but for a bit of a mindless action popcon flick, it was pretty decent (IMO).
Even better considering it’s a movie based on a game i guess!

Looks pretty impressive.

Looks awesome and it’s gonna be awesome. An acquaintance of mine is working with IO on this, so I do properly not have the most objective opinion, but it is looking good :)
Geffdof23
Looks a bit like Batman:AA. Never properly played a Hitman game but this really good.

Looks sweet, similar to how i remember when i played it with friends years ago, should be fun, especially working out all the different ways to do things.. These games were good at variety.

Massive fan of the Hitman games and I have to say that this has made me want to play them again. cannae wait for this to come out.

Looks like they’ve paid close attention to the likes of Uncharted (and Batman) and gone with something far more heavily scripted which has completely reinvigorated my interest. Top stuff.
