From tomorrow, Plus subscribers will be able to grab Stranger’s Wrath HD, inFamous 2, MotorStorm: Apocalypse, LittleBigPlanet 2, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, Renegade Ops, Chime Super Deluxe, Outland, Darksiders, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine.
There’s also a “Plus Game Of The Month” which will change over the year, and several other goodies to follow including 24 Caret Games’Â Retro/Grade. The wording makes it sound like the initial ten games won’t change, and we’ll just get the one ‘game of the month’ title for variety.
Either that or it’s the three ‘Blu-ray’ games – MotorStorm etc. It’s very confusing. The selection is different from SCEA’s, but it’s equally impressive for those paying the Plus fees.

The Future of PlayStation Plus is confusing.
Origami Killer
The future is getting free games from the past to play in the present.

I’ve re-read this so many times, my head hurts. I don’t really care though as ps+ has been fantastic since I signed up at launch, so all this gubbins is just extra love for me. I.e. I couldn’t care less if it was 1 game or all 10 I’m already happy with the service.
Origami Killer
Same here, glad Ive been signed up since day 1. Tried out some great games and feel it’s been worth the £80 so far :)
teflon
You get to keep ALL of this stuff for the length of your subscription.
That’s awesome.
matthangzhou
A fantastic time to be a plusser. Don’t own any of those games! Woooo hoooo. Ahem. I’ll let myself out.
ThoughtPolice
Not really. It’s the same price as Xbox Live Gold, but with PS+ you actually get content and features.
Personally, I usually make back my full years sub for PS+ within the first 3 months, I also play some really nice games that I would have likely otherwise overlooked.
Finally, the overnight gamepatching and online gamesaves is indispensable, I would pay for these two aspects alone.
Origami Killer
So we can have them all? :O Certainly worth my subscription fee, might have to think about signing up for another year in September when it runs out.
nofi
Bollocks, dunno. Going back to bed.
McProley
Was someone up past their bed time last night?
Origami Killer
haha, he deserves the sleep!
Just deleted 30GB of content on my PS3, now have 90GB ready for this.
McProley
I know, I’m just as tired. Ive ordered a new 1 TB HDD ready for this!
Origami Killer
I wont have Plus for longer than September unless some more Vita features come into play as I wont have PS3 from late september.
McProley
That is sad news, but you’ll be learning instead which is much more fun! :/
bmg_123
I’m surprised it was only ever mentioned in passing, I just assumed it was the normal monthly plus downloads…
psychobudgie
That is simply the most awesome news I have heard, so far, this morning. Yay for Plus.
IAmJacksMedullaOblongata
I was just about to pick up Stranger’s Wrath, InFamous 2, Darksiders and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. This might not be what I thought the “future of PS+” was going to be (streaming team up with Gaikai or OnLive) but Present Day Jack is very happy with this.
rSp8
That’s a nice list. Out of those I’ve only got inFamous 2 and LBP2 and have played Darksiders, I was expecting to have most of them. If we can only have 3 I think I’ll go for VF5, Warhammer, and MS: Apocalypse. Hopefully we’ll get all 3. Where can we read this press release?
The Lone Steven
Yeah, I’m still not getting plus as my poor 80GB would refuse to speak to me if it kept getting games downloaded on it.
But are the games to be kept forever or untill the sub runs out? Something tells me that SCEE will give us avatars and wallpapers instead of games. :S
rSp8
All PS+ games are only playable for as long as your subscription is active. I have 40GB left of my 250GB HDD, that’s gonna take a hammering when this lot goes live. Might be time to upgrade (again)…

Sony (SCEE) today announced an exciting update to PlayStation Plus that guarantees subscribers receive at least three full games a month from a selection of the very best titles from the PlayStation Store. The update will provide users with a wide variety of the hottest titles, at no additional cost.
Starting June 6th, there will be an Instant Game Collection of 10 games to choose from ready to download and play as part of the updated PlayStation Plus subscription, with at least three being updated monthly. The amazing launch line-up includes the brand new Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, as well as Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD, Renegade Ops, Chime Super Deluxe, Outland, Darksiders and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine.
As part of the 10 games available, there will be a PlayStation Plus Game of the Month. This will change every four weeks and represent the very best PlayStation Store has to offer, including brand new download-only games and Digital Blu-rays.
Additionally, as part of their subscription, members will have access to three digital Blu-ray blockbuster titles from SCEE – inFamous 2, MotorStorm: Apocalypse and LittleBigPlanet 2.
PlayStation Plus will also deliver some of the best games in production from smaller, independent developers that every member will have the chance to play. The first game to be included as part of this new offering is Retro/Grade, the arcade shooter with a twist from 24 Caret Games and will be available later this summer for eight weeks, at no cost to subscribers.
On top of all of the exciting new updates, the PlayStation Plus service will continue to offer the same special features, huge discounts and exclusive access that subscribers know and love.
Over the last year PlayStation Plus has delivered incredible value to its members worldwide. Between June 2011 and June 2012, subscribers have received:
Over €150 in games that are brand new to PlayStation Store and included as part of the subscription, like Awesomenauts, Trine 2 and The Simpsons Arcade
Over €450in games from the massive collection of great titles already available on PlayStation Store, like Castle Crashers, Plants vs. Zombies and Far Cry 2
More than €1000 in discounts on brand new games at launch, including digital Blu-ray titles from franchises like Assassin’s Creed, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon and Call of Duty, as well as additional money-off PlayStation Store special offers.
Subscribers also received an array of exclusive features and access, including cloud storage for game saves, automatic update and beta access to titles like Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Resistance 3 and StarHawk, as well as a huge collection of exclusive dynamic themes and PlayStation Network avatars.
Last year PlayStation Plus gave members access to content valued at over 30 times the cost of their yearly membership and this will only continue to increase over the coming months.
PlayStation Plus still costs just £39.99/€49.99 for a one-year subscription or £11.99/€14.99 for a 90-day subscription.

The words ‘choose from’ make it clear as mud.
If you get them all this is the bomb, not sure why Sony would have worded it so badly if you do. If you really do have to choose from the end benefit isn’t really that different from now.
teflon
Is so unclear what this really entails. I mean, yay! Games! But no clue how long we really get to keep them, do we get them all etc. etc. etc.
And no PS Vita stuff!
rSp8
The way I interpret that is we will be able to download all 10, and in the future there will be at least 3 similar quality games a month for free.
uncharted86
Yeah, I think this is right, but it is still worded very badly.
cc_star
Yes awful
Hey, here’s 10 games for you to have whilst you’re a member and on top that we’ll add 3 more similar quality every month.
That’s awesome. Really fecking buy it now awesome!
‘Choose from’ has taken the shine off it a bit.
Sony though init
Jakster123x
That is just Sony all over. There’s some info there and we can see a sea of games and figures, but in the end we’ve got more questions than answers.
Is it a puzzle?
Vaile23
this post clears it up perfectly:
http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2012/06/05/heads-up-playstation-plus-update-6th-june-2012/
and this should help some people out:
“Can we play the games throughout our entire Plus subscription? Or do they stop being playable once they are taken off the list of 10 games?
Good question! That aspect is the same as before – the dates for availability are regarding your initial download of the game – the same as now.
If you make sure that you go and opt to download a game before it exists Plus, then you can download it and keep playing it for as long as you’re a subscriber.
Likewise, if you are running short of space, you can delete it from your hard drive and retrieve it from your download list at ANY time – but you have to keep your subscription active.”
so basically, same as now. get it while it’s up, then you can delete/download it whenever you want as long as you’re subscribed, yay!
hazelam
that’s a nice selection, no make that a great selection.
some games i really want as well, like Infamous 2, LBP 2, and Warhammer 40K Space Marine.
but great as it is, that’s not quite the “future of playstation plus” i was expecting.
it’s just more of the same but even better.
and you know what, i’ll be happy with that.
coruscant
Some free games, that’s it? Doesn’t sell it to me I’m afraid.
hazelam
they’re damn good games though.
infamous 2 especially from the little i’ve played of it so far.
ok, it’s not quite “the future of plus” they hyped it as, but it’s still pretty damn good.
Aquastyle
I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but I want to play Saints Row 2, for free. Why offer some games for the US but some other for Europe?
Nevertheless, a great addition to the Plus package I’d say, this whole thingy.
